Personal Statement

I am hugely honoured and grateful at being nominated to the election for the post of BKMA General Secretary.

I have over the years been at the forefront of senior leadership , educational , IT and management roles in the NHS.This has been instrumental in shaping me both as a person and a healthcare professional.

I have been a recipient of many national and trust awards in my multiple roles both as a clinician and an innovator.

I have been there at the very inception of BKMA and have given it everything in my capacity as an interim executive. I have even in the brief history of BKMA been key in arranging international webinars , Covid fundraisers and some high profile charity initiatives.

I am known to my colleagues and friends as someone who is great at building teams and delivering on key objectives. I am a big advocate of “ under promising and over delivering” and my work over the last couple of years hopefully is testament to that.

One of my biggest strengths is the great rapport and network I have with medical colleagues in the valley of Kashmir. This will be key in the BKMA outreach to colleagues there to achieve our key common objectives chartered in the interim BKMA constitution.

My main aim is to consolidate the gains we have made over the last couple of years and make BKMA a real voice for medical professionals of Kashmiri origin.

I will make sure that the ethos of the organisation is primarily towards medical excellence, research, education and looking after such aspirations of the members.

I will take BKMA from strength to strength and will make it realise it’s true potential. It is my sincere belief that I will serve the organisation with dedication and the focus that it needs.

I request you to consider me for your vote as I will deliver on every promise I make.
